This device was able to detect where the moisture in my wall was coming from.
Seems to work as expected 
This moisture meter appears to work "as advertised." Having the probe on a cord was handy when I used it in my attic, as I could reach up into places with the probe while still able to read the meter at the same time.
Moisture Meter
I bought this to use in a house that is showing water damage. It accurately showed how far the leak spread into the ceiling that wasn't showing damage. It also confirmed a toilet leak into the ceiling below by only showing wet when the toilet was flushed. It saved me from worrying it was the shower stall. The prongs are holding up nicely and I like how it is designed so I can squeeze the probs into areas only my hand can fit. I recommend this for the weekend do-it-yourselfer.
Great Moisture Tester
This is a low cost, easy to use moisture tester. Great device that helps you see how much moisture is present in your walls. You can then decide to proceed further. The water alarm is a great bonus that can save you from water damage.
